Members of ADRA

Acquifin is a member of ADRA, a voluntary association for debt collectors who are committed to uplifting and improving the perception of debt collectors in the marketplace. They focus on increased professionalism of their members. They assist the members in training and other areas, where elevation and excellence can be aspired to.

Members Of CFDC

Acquifin is a member of The Council for Debt Collectors. The Council for Debt Collectors was established in 2003 after the promulgation of The Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998. This Act also amended the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 32 of 1944 to legalise the recovery of fees or remuneration by registered debt collectors. The Council for Debt Collectors has adopted a code of conduct to which all debt collectors must abide and it is thus illegal to collect debt on behalf of another without being registered with the Council.

Members Of The NCR

Acquifin is a member of The NCR who’s mandate is to: promote and support the development of a fair, transparent, competitive, sustainable, responsible, efficient and effective consumer credit market, and to increase participation of historically disadvantaged persons, low-income persons and communities, and remote, isolated or low-density populations and communities in the consumer credit market; regulate the consumer credit industry by registering credit providers, credit bureaus and debt counsellors, payment distribution agents, and alternative dispute resolution agencies; enforce the provisions of the National Credit Act; undertake research on the nature and dynamics of the consumer credit market in order to increase knowledge of these matters; promote public awareness of consumer credit matters; and review legislation and report to the Minister of Trade and Industry on matters concerning consumer credit.

Members Of The Credit Ombud

Acquifin is a member of The Credit Ombud who resolves complaints from consumers and businesses that are negatively impacted by credit bureau information or when a consumer has a dispute with a credit provider.The Office of the Credit Ombud is an independent and impartial body that reports to the Credit Ombud Council. The Council is represented by 3 constituencies: consumer bodies, the credit constituency and independent members.
